"The most enjoyable parties we had in my era were the spring outings to New Hope. We took a bus from the house after lunch and spent the afternoon wandering around the shops in New Hope.  At dinnertime we had two barges that went on the canal along the Delaware.  One barge had a combo on it for dancing.  The other barge had drinks and box dinners with room to sit, eat, and drink.  A bus home with an onboard nightcap topped off the day.  It was a very popular event for the brothers and our dates."-George Johnson, '64
